Mountain Creek is entering the big leagues for the 2003-04 season with their monster park and pipe efforts! They have excavated their pipe's basic shape out of the hill over the summer so that this winter, the pipe will be bigger, steeper, faster, and last longer into the spring...Mountain Creek will also be expanding their Vernon Peak park onto the right side of the Sugar trail, with lots of jibs that will be built in-house by the new Mountain Creek Jib Lab...this will open up space up top for more jumps! Mountain Creek is also hosting the U.S. Snowboard Grand Prix Finals for the first time ever - February 6-8, 2004!
NOTE: The below pictures are from the 2002-2003 winter season...

1 - The Uncommon Ground Park on South Peak, featuring beginning and intermediate-level obstacles located on the Exhibition trail...
2 - Mountain Creek's main attraction, the Uncommon Ground Terrain Park located on numerous trails on Vernon Peak, featuring advanced and pro-level obstacles and their monster Superpipe...Below, take a tour of the Uncommon Ground Terrain Park from last season...

Start by heading up on the Cabriolet Gondola. You gotta stand up for this ride, the after-effects of which you'll be feelin' at the end of the day. Head left at the top, strap on your board(s), and...
Enter through the ranch gate into the park and onto the Great Northern Trail...
Hit the six-inch-wide EZ Slide flat rail for starters...
and then the Kingpin Rail: 20 feet of flat to 25 feet down (a 45 footer!)...
Now you have options...first left takes you onto the Indian Pass Trail (below)...
bang! wide flat-down rail
blam! medium height wide flat rail
whammo! hiptop (tabletop & righthand hip) jump
sckringe! yellow skinny pipe rail...

OR...bang your second left off of Great Northern onto the Independence Pass trail...
big ol' booter!...
high flat rail - AKA the "poop daddy"...
Mountain Creek's famous 60 foot rollercoaster rail...
xl righthand hiptop jump
big! burly! double kink rail!...

OR take Great Northern all the way to the end...

hit this - another long flat EZ-Slide rail......

and head down the Kyber Trail...
the C - rail

head somewhere over the big red rainbow...
another long flat-down rail...

Slalom through the S-Rail and head for the Superpipe (Indian Pass, Independence Pass, and Kyber all lead to the Superpipe)...
Mountain Creek's Superpipe, located at the base of Vernon Peak, is excavated this season, which means a bigger, steeper, faster ride and a longer season for the pipe!

Mountain Creek's natural topography means freeriding opportunities are unfortunately limited. Mountain Creek's major draw lies in their pipe and parks, and they pour maximum blood, sweat, and tears into their efforts. I wouldn't recommend heading off-piste or into the woods here, as the terrain is really rocky and there is tons of brush. Of course, if Mountain Creek receives a massive amount of snow, then who knows?
