January 13th, 2005: Breckenridge has welcomed snowboarding to their resort for twenty years now, so it comes as no surprise that their park is the model from which many other resorts create theirs (or at least try to!) Their main park, The Freeway on Peak 8, is nothing short of complete and utter gnar. On a hugeness scale of 1-10, The Freeway rates about a 40 - just look at the pictures! Complete with some big rails, a monster quarterpipe, and a perfectly cut Superpipe, this park has everything you could ask for...except for hips. But you'll find those in one of the other THREE parks that Breck has on their hill! (See one of them below - Trygve's) Vans stops by here every December to throw down the Triple Crown, and the Cutter's Cup has been held here too. Breck simply has one of the best parks in the world. Some of the best freeriding at Breck is found above treeline, where the wind sure can blow. It felt like 40 below hiking from the T-Bar, but that same wind loaded up some lines with enough windpack to get an edge in and rip those steeps!
