| This is the Laurel Skatepark in Richmond, VA. As you might deduce from these pictures, I didn't get to skate this park, but I don't think I missed much, either. The white quarterpipe punk wall looks fun, the vert ramp appears to be decent, and as for the pool, maybe it's fun, and maybe it's a rough asphalt hellhole-I dunno. (Mike confirms: It's steep and rough) The park is free, but the growling man on the answering machine stated forcefully that full pads are required, including wrist guards (check out the rules sign below for their other protective gear recommendation!!!) |

| DIRECTIONS: Take I-95 to the Parham Rd. West exit. Go down Parham to Woodman Road. Right on Woodman and down to Hungary Rd. There, bang a left. Take Hungary just past the railroad tracks and take your first right onto Hungary Springs Rd. This prison-park will be on your left. It is located at 10301 Hungary Springs Road for all you Mapquest junkies. Call the park at (804)-672-6273 for hours of operation, other information, and to hear the old man grumble. |
