Dodge
Skatepark, Columbus OH |
|
|
| Built in the early
1990's, Dodge is a site of concrete history and merits a stop on any cross
country road trip. The bowl setup starts with a tail-shaped entry run that
empties into a shallow bowl with rolled lips. From there, it channels downhill
into a four foot bowl on the left or the largest bowl at the bottom - a
six footer. The concrete is a bit lumpy, but that just adds to the challenge.
The lips of the bowls are concrete edges, and the trannies are steep. This
park used to be pay-to-play and full pads, but eventually the city figured
it out that skateparks never make money and cancelled all that shit. Now
it is free, unsupervised, and open whenever Dodge park is. Still got the
fence, though...According to Transworld
Skateboarding, Dodge was designed by Tony Hawk's father Frank... |
