Alright,
I need to be honest here...the street area
here at Athens was half-assed, and that is a damn shame ,
because Grindline's
team is definitely capable of building better quality and more creative
elements than what you see in some of these pictures. The concrete
is uncharacteristically lumpy
in many spots of the street area, and there are way too many flat
banks .

The Athens Skatepark is behind the Athens Rec Center (or Community
Center-whatever its called) at 701 East State St. Take U.S. 50
to 33 North, exit at State St. East, and the Rec Center is just

If you can get a run all by yourself in this massive monster (not
easy on Skatopia weekend!), then your legs will be hurtin' by
the end of it! The capsule is deep and dark, and a hell of a lot
tighter and quicker that you'd think. Next to it is 8 damn feet
of vert on the tombstone (word is some dude's already dropped
it!?!?!?!)
Oververt and escalating pool cope topped corner, and lots more
pool cope, big tranny, tight tranny, and super speed all over
this thing! AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHRRRRRRGGGGGGG!
Just go there already!!! And if you're wondering, yes you can
air from the street area onto the backside of the capsule, and
wall ride that shit! (Somebody said a bike has gone completely
over the damn thing?!?!?!) To top it all off, Skatopia is a half
hour away, and that is one of the reasons why this sick Grindline
park is in Athens in the first place...Best part: Its free
,
no pads
required, no cops,
tight shorts, or nannies

and open dawn to dusk!
