Here
it is, THE WORST SKATEPARK I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE!!! - Crawford,
NY., located right next to Pine Bush, NY. Apparently, these things are
made from drainage culverts and septic tanks!?!?!?!?! The quarterpipes
have at least six inches of vert at only 4 feet in height-do the math-with
no coping either, just a void and an uneven platform. The flat banks don't
even have platforms. The mellower flat bank has a four foot platform,
then a set of stairs, which is barely functional. But the hip in the corner
is the WORST element: there is a gap in the seam separating the two sides
large enough to swallow your foot (and rip it clean off!), and blobular
asphalt swelling of the nastiest kind at the bottom of the banks, rendering
it nearly unskatable. Come to think of it, all the ramps here have some
sort of asphalt patch kink-mess at the bottom.
Now,
I will admit that I found the tight tight tight tranny and steep steep
flat banks of this "messterpiece" to be somewhat of an interesting
challenge, as wellI am sure a pro or even just an accomplished amateur
would. However, as a public park intended for users of ALL ability levels,
this park fails miserably. With this "skatepark", the town of
Crawford, NY, instead got a septic system. |
