| just when I thought
my scene sucked royal ass, along comes a nugget like this one. Big square
city rec pool, 11ft deep end with 2 ft of vert, squared corners, and eroding
trannies that get tighter as you go upslope towards the shallow. Smooth
surface but its cratered (similar to FDR skatepark) so bring the big wheels.
You basically do triangle or diamond lines around this beast. It's in the
middle of the projects, and the first time I went here, an old man and his
granddaughter didn't care that I was skating - they watched for a moment,
then ignored me. Two little kids also stopped to swing on the swings, then
told me that they were going to get rabies when they swim in it in the summer
from the scuff marks. They also said that there were secret cameras in the
lights and that the poolhouse was the "control room". Overactive
imaginations I guess. It is visible from a somewhat busy street, so the
bust factor may play into this spot sometimes. Drained in da winta. |
