Elkhorn
Skatepark - Las Vegas, NV |
|
|
| alright: to bitch about
the particulars of this park, you could say that the walls at the ends of
the bowls are pretty thoughtless and way too high to be anything but suicide-height
ledges. Compared to some of the other concrete parks in Vegas such as Desert
Breeze or Doc Romeo, this park is a
shit sandwich. But if you live in an area plagued by prefabbed prison parks
(like I do), you'd hack off yer arm to have this at-best-mediocre concrete
park in your neighborhood (but don't hack off your leg it makes skating
much more difficult). Also of interesting note: note in the photos how the
park is at the bottom of a huge basin. There are signs posted warning you
that this park is in a flash flood zone. If it starts raining hard at or
around this park, you might want to climb for high ground right quick or
learn how to surf real quick. |

| DIRECTIONS:
Take Rt. 95 from central Vegas north to the Sky Pointe Drive exit. At the
end of the ramp, turn left onto Sky Pointe Drive. Turn right onto Elkhorn
Road, and then left onto Buffalo. Take first left onto Golden Talon Ave,
and first right into parking lot. Skatepark is down in the basin. |
