Bowl - Wanchese, NC |

Pics
and Review Submitted By Rob (Submit Your Park Here) |
| The bowl is a DIY effort
done by Outer Banks locals over a two year period of weekends. The overall
cost was covered by loans, benefits, and mass donations. Tell everyone to
contribute to someone they know, they will never be sorry. The depth is
9.5 in the round bowl, 10 in the square, and twelve in the oververt pocket.
The entire bowl is made from pressure treated lumber and is sheeted with
Skatelite. The coping is hand poured pool coping, with real blocks added
to the oververt pocket. The overall length and width is 65 x 40 feet. The
deal is free, the locals say don't show up empty handed(bring beer). It
is on private property so respect the environment, this means take out what
you bring in. If you are coming from out of town your best bet is to email
mhc@beachlink.com or ocnsky@yahoo.com for directions. If you are one that
likes to fish things out, this bowl lies in the heart of the fishing village
named Wanchese on Roanoke Island. It is right across from the Methodist
church to the left at the fork in the road. |
