| Concrete altitude sickness in the Colorado Rockies, recently expanded to make you even more nauseous! Original: Big deep end with tons of vert and pool cope from here to there, shallow end with buttcheek spine, and two roll-in pockets, plus small street area behind it. Expansion: Funky kiddie bowl with escalators and a ledge to ollie up to. Street area has some new little refinements. Kick ass. Free, Helmets required, open till dark. is the old Crested Butte Skatepark, circa Summer 96. It was a donated
backyard bowl, a situation similar to Stafford
County, Virginia's elbowl. |
| DIRECTIONS: Take Highway 135 north from Highway 50 into Crested Butte. Once you see the town sign with the elevation and all that, take your first left onto belleview. Follow Belleview straight to the end, and the park will be right in front of you. If you get lost, don't worry about it. Crested Butte is tiny. The stoned hippie, mongrel dog, or burly mountain man will be able to direct you to the park. |
