Think
denver, but suckier...another architerra park. As they have now
designed a half-dozen parks around Denver, I think they have become
cocky and thrown any new skateboarder design imput in the garbage.
Their skatepark designs are not becoming more challenging or progressive,
but their mulching is beautiful! Their standalone bowl designs
is their only decent element they can put out - Castle Rock's
bowl is alright, but the street course is another example of their
typical clusterfuck design technique - horrible geometry in the
rails and ledges and dead end walls where a bowl corner should
have been placed. The separate kiddie area is a good idea for
this park and any other skatepark. Castle Rock is free, no pads,
and open from dawn to eleven or so at night, thanks to the powerful
ass stadium lights. Stop here if you ain't in a hurry. Otherwise,
skip this place and keep heading south to Trinidad!

this bankage on the
left is right near the park - lil bitta plywood, anyone? |
| DIRECTIONS:
Take I-25 to Exit 184 in Castle Rock. Head east on Founders Parkway, and
take a right onto Front St. Follow Front along the highway, and look for
the huge sports park looking place on your left. The skatepark's in there. |
