Pools of all shapes
and sizes are skated, from the (relatively) perfect curves of the southern
California backyards to a bug-infested pool on the edge of the Salton
Sea to a foot-deep fish pond in the woods to the 12 foot muni beast in
Cambridge, MA to a homemade hole in Seattle.
Pool skating legends
such as Tony Alva, Lance Mountain, and Steve Alba are featured as well
as locals from each region the film travels to. White trash motel residents
are consulted for some pool rides, and cackling women are bribed for others.
Some pools are a 5-0 bust, while at others the crew walks right through
the living room with the permission of the homeowners and proceed to rip
apart the pool.
Coan and Rick employ
a cool montage style to this film, peppering the pool skating footy with
quick, jerky clips of motel signs, cope, tile, pool builder's logos, and
other assorted visuals of the environment in which they are filming. Anyone
who lives for skateboarding will appreciate this film to the fullest.
